Overview

Arvow’s MCP server lets you use Arvow from ChatGPT, Claude, and coding tools like Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex. Once connected, you can list projects, create AutoBlogs, generate article batches, run keyword research, and check Google Search Console — just by asking in plain language.

📘 What is MCP? It’s a standard way for AI assistants to connect to other tools. You don’t need to understand how it works — pick the setup for your app below.

Connect ChatGPT (sign-in, no API key)

Arvow’s MCP works with ChatGPT using OAuth. It’s live in production.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors.

  2. Create a custom connector. You may need to turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings first.

  3. Use this URL:

    https://api.arvow.com/mcp

  4. Choose OAuth for authentication.

  5. ChatGPT opens Arvow. Sign in, choose your organization, and click Connect.

  6. Back in ChatGPT, try prompts like:

    • “List my Arvow projects”

    • “Research keywords for <topic> with Arvow”

Connect Claude (API key)

1. Get your Arvow MCP URL

  1. In Arvow, go to Organization → MCP (under Developer), or open it from Chat via Connect ChatGPT/Claude.

  2. Copy the MCP server URL shown on this page.

2. Get your Arvow API key

  1. In Arvow, go to Organization → API (or use the API link on the MCP page).

  2. Copy your API key.

⚠️ Your API key gives full access to your Arvow account. Don’t share it publicly. Only the organization owner can manage the shared API key.

3. Add the connector in Claude

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors.

  2. Click Browse all connectors, then click Add.

  3. Fill in:

    • Name: Arvow

    • URL: paste the MCP server URL from step 1.

  4. Under authentication, choose No sign in.

  5. Open Advanced → Request headers → Add header.

    • Header name: x-api-key

    • Value: paste your Arvow API key from step 2.

  6. Click Add to finish.

👍 Arvow is now connected to Claude.

4. Set permissions (optional)

After connecting, you can choose how Claude handles actions on your Arvow account:

  • Always allow: Claude runs actions without asking.

  • Ask before each action: Claude asks for your approval first (recommended if you want to review changes).

Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex

On the MCP page in Arvow you’ll find a ready-made configuration snippet. Copy it into your tool’s settings and replace the x-api-key placeholder with your API key — the same key you used for Claude.

Using Arvow inside your AI tool

  1. Start a new chat.

  2. Make sure the Arvow connector is turned on.

  3. Ask it to do things in Arvow in plain language.

  • See the backlinks your project has earned

Google Search Console (if connected in Arvow)

  • Check clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and position for your pages

  • See organic keywords, traffic, and backlink totals for any domain

  • Get volume, CPC, difficulty, and search intent for a list of keywords

  • Get keyword ideas from a seed term

Example

Here’s a real workflow from a single chat message:

Get me keyword ideas for the arvow.com project, filtered by volume. Then create an AutoBlog with those keywords that starts tomorrow.

Your assistant will:

  1. Return a list of keywords with volume, keyword difficulty, and intent.

  2. Before scheduling, ask whether you want to publish the articles to your website or generate only (save as drafts), and confirm the timing and time zone.

  3. Create the AutoBlog. In this example, six articles were added to the calendar as drafts for the next day.

You can then open the AutoBlog in Arvow and see the scheduled articles on the calendar.

FAQs

Q: Do I need an API key for ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT uses OAuth sign-in. You sign in to Arvow, pick an organization, and connect — no API key required.

Q: Do I need a paid ChatGPT or Claude plan?
Custom connectors / Apps & Connectors need to be available on your account. Check your plan if you don’t see those settings (and enable Developer mode in ChatGPT Advanced settings if needed).

Q: Can the assistant make changes to my Arvow account?
Yes — it can create AutoBlogs, schedule articles, and more. Prefer “ask before each action” (or your tool’s equivalent) if you want to approve changes first.

Q: Can I use this with other AI tools?
Yes. ChatGPT (OAuth), Claude (API key header), Claude Code, and ChatGPT Codex are supported. Any tool that supports MCP servers should work with the same URL and the auth method that tool supports.

Q: Google Search Console questions aren’t working. Why?
Connect Google Search Console to your project inside Arvow first. The assistant can only read data Arvow already has access to.

Q: What if my API key changes?
For Claude (and coding tools), edit the Arvow connector and update the x-api-key header. ChatGPT OAuth connections don’t use the API key.
