Overview

The URL Indexer automatically pulls URLs from your sitemap and Google Search Console, then checks whether Google has indexed them. It does not submit or push URLs to Google for indexing — it only tracks indexation status.

Setting Up the URL Indexer

  1. Connect Google Search Console for the project (the URL Indexer needs GSC access to inspect URLs).

  2. Open URL Indexer in the project sidebar (under Authority).

  3. Once GSC is connected, Arvow automatically discovers URLs from your sitemap and Search Console and starts checking their index status.

👍 Once connected, Arvow crawls your sitemap about every hour and checks whether those URLs are indexed in Google. There is nothing to add manually.

Tracking Indexation

In the dashboard you can see:

  • The list of discovered pages

  • Each page's indexation status

  • When each page was last checked

📘 If you've just set things up, give it a few minutes for the first results to show up.

FAQs

Q: Does Arvow submit my pages to Google for indexing? No. The URL Indexer only discovers URLs and checks index status via Google Search Console. It does not call Google's Indexing API to publish or request indexing.

Q: How do URLs get into the list? Automatically from your sitemap and Search Console. You don't add URLs by hand.

Q: How often does Arvow crawl my site? Automatically about every hour.

Q: Do I need Google Search Console to use this? Yes. Index status checks use your connected Google Search Console property.

Q: Why don't I see my pages yet? It can take a few minutes after the first crawl. Make sure GSC is connected and the property matches your site.
